Dickenson Gilroy Partner, Deborah Bailey, Elected to Board of Georgia Real Estate Fraud Prevention and Awareness Coalition

ALPHARETTA, Ga. (May 27, 2008) — Deborah S. Bailey, a partner with the real estate law firm of Dickenson Gilroy, LLC, has been elected to the board of directors of the Georgia Real Estate Fraud Prevention and Awareness Coalition (GREFPAC).

GREFPAC is an educational organization comprised of concerned individuals and professionals from all aspects of the real estate industry. It works together with federal, state and local regulators and law enforcement agencies to create environments that promote honesty, openness and fairness in real estate transactions.

Although GREFPAC does not do investigations or give legal opinions, it has been instrumental in reducing the volume of mortgage fraudin Georgia since its inception in 2001. Currently the state ranks sixth in the nation, a significant improvement over its May 2007 ranking by the Mortgage Asset Research Institute when the state had the fourth worst mortgage fraud problem in the country.

Ms. Bailey is from Falmouth, Antigua. She was a pupil at the Foundation Mixed School and the Antigua Girls High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1989 and received her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1998.

She was admitted to the State Bar of Florida in 2000 and the State Bar of Georgia in 2001.

A resident of Mableton, Ga., she is a member of the University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review, and the American Bar Association.
