Jennifer L. Dickenson is a founding principal of Dickenson Gilroy. A native of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., she attended the University of Rochester, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in 1989, with a double major in Political Science/Psychology and a minor in French. Ms. Dickenson attended the Université de Sorbonne, Paris IV, in Paris, France in 1988. In 1992, she graduated from Emory University School of Law with a J.D. degree.
Ms. Dickenson was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1992 and the State Bar of New York in 1995. Her primary practice areas include residential and commercial real estate, general real estate law, business law and creditor's rights.
Ms. Dickenson is active in educating the real estate community on matters related to real estate such as fraud, contracts and professionalism. She is a member of the Real Estate Settlement Providers Council (RESPRO), Atlanta Home Builders Association, Georgia Association of Realtors, Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorneys Association (GRECAA), State Bar of Georgia — Real Estate Section, Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia and Georgia Association of Mortgage Brokers. Her published articles include Stigmatized Properties in Real Estate Executive Magazine and When to Get Up From the Closing Table in R.E. Magazine.

Monica K.
Gilroy

Monica K. Gilroy, a founding principal of Dickenson Gilroy, leads the litigation department. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin in 1990 and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993. She also attended the Ealing College of Higher Education in a study abroad program in 1989. The focus of her litigation practice includes all aspects of real estate litigation, including foreclosure and title disputes, broker and agent liability defense, mortgage fraud-related litigation and civil and commercial contract disputes.
Ms. Gilroy has served as the litigation liaison for leading lending institutions as well as managed their national bankruptcy litigation program. Ms. Gilroy continues to serve as counsel for many national and local banks, mortgage companies and real estate industry lenders and leaders. Ms. Gilroy regularly assists closing attorneys, real estate agents, property managers, title companies and brokers when title or other contract issues arise. She also practiced for several years in the areas of estate and trust litigation and serves regularly as a Special Master in Fulton County. Ms. Gilroy has extensive lead counsel trial experience and frequently appears in all of the state and federal courts of Georgia, including the state and federal appellate courts.
A member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1993, she is also a member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the Georgia Women’ Lawyer’s Association, Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, and a member of the Real Property Section of the State Bar. She is a contributing writer to Foreclosure Law and Related Remedies: a State-by-State Digest which is published by the American Bar Association. She speaks and teaches on a regular basis at the state and national level to attorneys, real estate professionals, property managers, and real-estate brokers and agents on litigation and real estate related topics. Ms. Gilroy holds an AV-peer review rating with Martindale Hubbell. She practices law at the firm’s corporate office in Alpharetta.

A. Diane Baker is a native of Atlanta. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Oglethorpe University in 1977, and her J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1980. Admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1980, she began her legal career with Hansell & Post. She also served as Senior Counsel in the Legal Department at NationsBank (now Bank of America). Her practice areas include wills and trusts, estate planning, probate, guardianship, corporate and business law. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the North Fulton Bar Association. She is currently serving as a Director of the Estate Planning Council of North Georgia, and as Chair of the Georgia ElderCare Symposium.

Lyle D. Nichols graduated from the University of Georgia in 1965 with a B.B.A. degree and received his L.L.B. from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law in 1968. Based in DG Law's Marietta office, he practices residential and commercial real estate law, foreclosure, landlord/tenant and condominium law. He is a member of Phi Delta Phi and the Atlanta Bar Association. He served as the Secretary/Treasurer, Real Estate Section from 1983 to 1984 for the State Bar of Georgia and was its Real Estate Section Newsletter Editor from 1971 to 1974. Michael P. Barry earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1991 after attending Brunel University of West London in 1990. He earned his J.D. from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1996. Working out of Dickenson Gilroy's Midtown office, Mr. Barry specializes in all phases of residential real estate and development representing buyers, sellers and mortgage lenders. Stephen L. Jenkins is a native of Dover, Ohio. He attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, prior to earning a B.A. degree from Georgia State University, Atlanta, in 1976. Marjorie Louise Bluth hails from New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated magna cum laude from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., with a B.A. degree in 2004. She earned her J.D. from Tulane University Law School, New Orleans, in 2007, which included a period of time at Emory Law School in the Fall of 2005 due to damage on the Tulane campus caused by Hurricane Katrina. Prior to earning her J.D. she served as a Congressional Intern for U.S. Senator John Breaux (D-La.) in 2001-2002 and was an extern to Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Heather A. Dognazzi was born in Takoma Park, Md. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia in 1986 and her J.D. from Georgia State University in 1992. She was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1992. Her practice is concentrated in residential and commercial real estate, business formations, wills and estate planning. She manages the firm's Peachtree City office. Prior to joining Dickenson Gilroy, she counseled individual and corporate clients on residential and commercial real estate acquisitions, commercial leases, business sales, and foreclosures. She has also represented clients in business and real estate litigation and has extensive civil litigation experience. Ms. Dognazzi is an affiliate member of the Women's Council of Realtors and Fayette Board of Realtors, and a member of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce. She is also a volunteer with the PTCYSA and the Girl Scouts of America.
